The testimony of the Tabernacle

lies in three areas of its construction; just as the testimony of our tabernacle lies in the three areas of our life: body, soul, and spirit. Herein is the root of salvation.

Can my body save my soul?

No, it can only take me to where I can physically hear the words that can save my

soul. Faith comes by hearing (a physical activity), however, the soul is required to

interpret what has been heard. Therefore, the body only facilitates the method of

 salvation, which is by faith.

Can my soul save my spirit?

No, only in the sense that the will and desires of the soul must die and the will of God must live. Except the spirit is born again, it cannot live. (John 3:3) The term "born again" applies to those who were once separated from God (who is the source of life) and become reconciled, to him, through Jesus Christ, whom he sent for that purpose. For that reconciliation to take place requires justification. God is holy and righteous; sin cannot stand in his presence. We are born infected with sin; to stand in the presence of God would kill us. However, God loves us, so, much that he justifies us through substituting our sinful lives for the righteous life of Jesus Christ. Therefore, having suffered the penalty for our sinful nature of death, Jesus is made the propitiation or substitution and the justifier of those who trust in him for life. (1 John 2:2; Romans 3:26)

The Old Testament was a gift box that hid the New Testament, until Jesus came.

1. Before Jesus came to take away the sin of the world, a relationship with God was predicated upon the atonement. In other words, the antonement in the Old Testament is a physical shadow of the spiritual consumation found in the New Testament. The worshipper would begin in the outer court, where he physically dealt with his spiritual condition through animal sacrifice. They would take that which was innocent, physically precious to them, and sacrifice it upon the brazen altar, by faith. Thereby, "covering" over their sin nature of self-preservation and personal glory. The animal represented their very source of prosperity, food, and clothing. The worshipper would lay the very best he had on the altar, by faith, believing that a relationship with God would provide all that he and his family would need, in the future.

People in the Old Testament were saved by looking forward to the coming of messiah who would be the final eternal sacrifice. We are saved by looking back at that sacrifice and believing in its all sufficient power to save us. The physical atonement, in the Old Testament, was only a temporary promissory note of the eternal sacrifice that would be made through Jesus Christ the righteous. So, the first step in coming to God was through the judgment fire of sacrifice, by faith. Today, we call it repentance. We turn from our own way; sacrificing our will, to give ourselves, as a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1), that God's will may live in us through the power of the Holy Spirit. We do not cover our sins; Jesus takes them away, as far as the east is from the west and they are remembered no more, "just" as though we had never committed them, hence, "justification".

Ps 103:10 He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. [11] For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him. [12] As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.

Therefore, for us to continue in making animal sacrifice is like putting a bandaid on a wound that has been healed 2,000 years ago. It not only does not help furthure healing; but the bandaid blocks the air necessary to make the flesh healthy. They Holy Spirit (pneuma - from which we get the word pneumatics) is known as the breath of life and to sacrifice animals, as modern day satanits do, is to put a barrier between us and the one who breathes life into our mortal bodies. (Romans 8:11) It is an insult to God who has provided the way, the truth, and the life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

2. After the atonement for their sins, the priest (who was the believer's representative before God) would take the blood (which represented the life of the believer), into the Holy Place. This is where anointing would take place. Anointing is the empowerment of the sacrifice to become effective in the life of the believer, through offering it upon the altar of incense or the altar of prayers.

Le 4:5 And the priest that is anointed shall take of the bullock's blood, and bring it to the tabernacle of the congregation: [6] And the priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle of the blood seven times before the LORD, before the vail (holy of holies) of the sanctuary. [7] And the priest shall put some of the blood upon the horns of the altar of sweet incense before the LORD, which is in the tabernacle of the congregation; and shall pour all the blood of the bullock at the bottom of the altar of the burnt offering, which is at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

Le 16:18 And he shall go out unto the altar that is before the LORD, and make an atonement for it; and shall take of the blood of the bullock, and of the blood of the goat, and put it upon the horns of the altar round about.
[19] And he shall sprinkle of the blood upon it with his finger seven times, and cleanse it, and hallow it from the uncleanness of the children of Israel.

The burning of incense is emblematic of the prayers of the believer; which were acceptable to God, because of the atonement, by faith, in the outer court.

Heb 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

Le 17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

So, when we read the word "blood" we could actually substitute the word "life". The blood, or life, was the authority, by which, their prayers were heard. The blood (or life) covenant of Jesus our substitute is the authority or power, by which we pray to God. We no longer need a priest to represent us, because Jesus is our high priest.

Joh 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.

1Ti 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; [6] Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

Heb 7:22 By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament. [23] And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death: [24] But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. [25] Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. [26] For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; [27] Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.

Therefore, in the Old Testament, the worshipper could leave the tabernacle assured that he had been forgiven, cleansed, and justified, because of the blood sacrifice. He could have confidence that the promises of mercy from God applied to him and his family, because of the blood sacrifice and the temporary setting aside of the sin barrier that had separated the worshipper from God. The blood sacrifice provided atonement for the believer. In the same way, we are told by Jesus, who is our blood sacrifice, to pray in his name that our joy may be full. (John 16:24) And, because of his blood (life) covenant we can have confidence that we are forgiven, cleansed, and justified, before a holy God, and that God's promises will apply to us, as well.

Ga 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. [17] And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.

3. Finally, once a year the high priest would enter into the Holy of Holies to make atonement for all the people. The priest had to be purified first for himself, then he could appear before God, on behalf of the whole nation. It is in the Holy of Holies that the physical presence of God was revealed and his will made known to the people. This physical presence is known as the Shekinah Glory, where the spirit of man is exposed to the awesome power and presence of the spirit of God.

In our world, as spiritual creatures, we are continually attempting to touch things of the spirit. However, because of our sin nature, we go about it backwards. We attempt to experience the spiritual through physical means, such as: alchol, drugs, acts of wickedness, death defying feats of ignorance. We, also, attempt to justify ourselves by our physical acts; not realizing that the physical cannot satisfy the eternal. That is why the animal sacrifices could only temporarily "cover" our sin nature by looking forward to a better covenant of eternal value. That eternal substitution was to be made by the eternal God/man Jesus Christ, to permanently remove our sin nature.

Eze 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

By faith, we must enter into and receive our justification. Once we have made that transition, into eternal life, through Jesus Christ, then the spirit of God that raised up Jesus from the dead will anoint our mortal lives, even our body (Romans 8:11), our mind can be renewed or "saved" by the washing of the water of the word of God, as it is revealed to us by the Holy Spirit, (Romans 12:2; 1 Corinthians 2:14-16; Eph 5:26), and we can prosper, in his gloryoius provision. (Joshua 1:8; Matthew 6:31-34; 3 John 2) This is the essence of the "Testimony of the Tabernacle", in that, through faith we can receive anointing to enter into the glory of God.

Therefore, to appear before God spotless and justified, we must: daily, sacrifice our will (Lk 9:23) and enter into his anointing or empowerment; so, that we can live before him in righteousness and holiness, without which no man can see the Lord. (Hebrews 12:14) It is through faith, in the finished work of Jesus, that we can receive his anointing to enter into God's glorious presence.

Ro 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. [10] For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Jesus taught us to pray to the FATHER, in the name of the SON, with the anointing of the HOLY GHOST. NOT to the son or the spirit; but to the FATHER.

Mt 6:9 ¶ After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Joh 16:24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

Jude 1:20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, [21] Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

1Co 14:15 ¶ What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.

Three places to make offerings:

  1. Before the altar. (outer court)                          Lev. 4:18

  2. Before the tabernacle (Holy place - sanctuary)   Lev. 1:3

  3. Before the veil (Holy of holies)                         Lev 4:17

Three types of creatures to make offerings:

  1. Bull (symbol of God the father):                       Lev. 1:2

  2. Ram (symbol of the Lord Jesus):                      Lev. 1:10

  3. Bird (symbol of the God the Holy Spirit):           Lev. 1:14

Sacrifices and offerings:

Sacrifices atone for sins, whereas, an offering gives honor to whom honor is due.

Sacrifices satisfy justice; offerings provide glory.

Exo. 36:6 So the people were restrained from bringing. [7] For the stuff they had was sufficient for all the work to make it, and too much.

Why sacrifices? Sin is the death of a relationship. God the Father, Son, and Holy spirit became dead to us, because of our sin. Every time an animal or bird was sacrificed, it was the symbol of man killing his relationship, with God. The death of the animal brought sorrow and loss to the person making the sacrifice; just as sin brings sorrow and loss to the one who made us. The life that was in the blood covered over our sins, as a memorial before God of his promise to take our place in judgement, the innocent for the guilty, until Jesus came to remove our sins forever.

1. Wave offering:An offering of gratitude, thanksgiving, and examination; not an atonement for any sin. It is a peace offering with horizontal movement. This is indicative of Jesus' commandment to "love your neighbor as your self." Forming the cross, the horiztonal beam is a metaphor of our horizontal relationships with our fellow man. (SEC: H08573) ten-oo-faw' from 5130; a brandishing (in threat); by implication, tumult; specifically, the official undulation of sacrificial offerings:--offering, shaking, wave (offering).

Ex 29:22 Also thou shalt take of the ram the fat and the rump, and the fat that covereth the inwards, and the caul above the liver, and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, and the right shoulder; for it is a ram of consecration: [23] And one loaf of bread, and one cake of oiled bread, and one wafer out of the basket of the unleavened bread that is before the LORD: [24] And thou shalt put all in the hands of Aaron, and in the hands of his sons; and shalt wave them for a wave offering before the LORD.

The wave offering took the inner most parts of the sacrifice and waved them before the Lord, as an offering of peace. In a similar way our relationship with our fellow man is to be rooted in the personal peace of our inner most being that comes from our relationship with God, through Jesus Christ.

In the eight steps of spritiual growth found in Matthew 5, the seventh step of maturity is to be a "peace maker". The Apostle Paul writes to us:

2Co 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation. - Peace making.

Note: The wave offering, also incorporated the first of the crop of grain and of the oil.

In Revelation six we read:

Re 6:6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.

The oil and the wine were for anointing and communion.

So, we have peace in the inward parts that are waved before God for an inspection of our fruit, being symbolic of our innocense. (Matthew 7:20) The inward parts, anointing oil, and communion bread are all at the brazen altar of judgment. Look at these words in reverse order:

   A. Judgment. The Apostle Paul wrote concerning participation in the holy communion:

1Co 11:27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. [28] But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. [29] For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. [30] For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. [31] For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.

   B. Innocense. Jesus taught us:

Mt 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
[19] Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. [20] Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

   C. Peace.

Ps 51:6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Joh 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

In summary, communion with God, anointing from God, inner peace with God, and peace with our fellow man is a product of a humble innocense achieved when we: examine ourselves, judge ourselves, and agree with God about our sins. Then we are cleansed and prepard for fellowship in the anointing of God's holy presence.

1Jo 1:8 ¶ If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all

unrighteousness. [10] If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

Pr 16:7 ¶ When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.

2. Heave offering: Whereas, the wave offering is a horizontal shaking back and forth; the heave offering is vertical movement lifting up of the flesh sacrifice, as a gift. (Nu. 15:20 - the offering was lifted up.)

(SEC: H08641). ter-oo-maw' or trumah (Deut. 12:11) {ter-oo-maw'}; from 7311; a present (as offered up), especially in sacrifice or as tribute:-- gift, heave offering ((shoulder)), oblation, offered(-ing).

The key word used in both the Wave offering and the Heave offering is "consecration" or dedication of oneself to the task of serving God.

(SEC: H04394.) millu',  mil-loo' from 4390; a fulfilling (only in plural), i.e. (literally) a setting (of gems), or (technically) consecration (also concretely, a dedicatory sacrifice):--consecration, be set.

Exo. 29:22 ". . .it is a ram of consecration." (Wave offering)

Exo. 29:27 " . . .the ram of the consecration." (Heave offering)

Ps 37:5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

Col 3:23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.

A giving of ourselves to God is a separation from the past and the things of the world and a wholly surrender to him, as a living sacrifice. (Romans 12:1)

Lu 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. [24] For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.

 3. Burnt offering: Lev. 1:1-17 The burnt offering is a free will offering.

Le 1:3 ¶ If his offering be a burnt sacrifice of the herd, let him offer a male without blemish: he shall offer it of his own voluntary will at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD.

Le 1:10 ¶ And if his offering be of the flocks, namely, of the sheep, or of the goats, for a burnt sacrifice; he shall bring it a male without blemish.

Le 1:14 And if the burnt sacrifice for his offering to the LORD be of fowls, then he shall bring his offering of turtledoves, or of young pigeons.

These words are similar to those found in the instructions of preparation for the Passover. (Exodus 12:5 and others.) In the passover, they sacrificed a lamb which represents Jesus the lamb of God, slain from the foundation of the world. Again, the three types of animals are used in the burnt offering that represent God in his three presentations: The Father (bull), the Son (lamb), and the Holy Spirit (birds).

Also, interesting is the burnt offering image protrayed in the announcement of Sampson's birth, when the Angel of the Lord, himself, became a burnt offering. The term "Angel of the Lord', often referes to a theophony of Jesus, in the Old Testament.

Jg 13:20 For it came to pass, when the flame went up toward heaven from off the altar, that the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame of the altar.

The burnt offering is a free will offering that is a "sweet smelling savior" to God. The sacrifice of our Lord was a free will offering that satisfied both justice and mercy at the same time. Therefore, it was pleasing to the Lord.

Isa 53:10 ¶ Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. [11] He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

Joh 10:17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. [18] No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

4. Sin offering is a realization of ignorance. We commit violations that we are not even aware of and ignorance does not change the consequences of those sins. In other words, God cannot bless what he has, already, cursed. If God has said,

"If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are." 1Co 3:17

And we ignorantly defile our temple, through bitterness (Hebrews 12:15), we may repent, find forgiveness, and a way of escape, however, God does not remove from us the consequences of our sin; he takes us through the trouble that we have brought upon ourselves. It is a bitter lesson; but one we will always remember. (Hebrews 12:9-11)

Le 4:13 ¶ And if the whole congregation of Israel sin through ignorance, and the thing be hid from the eyes of the assembly, and they have done somewhat against any of the commandments of the LORD concerning things which should not be done, and are guilty; [14] When the sin, which they have sinned against it, is known, then the congregation shall offer a young bullock for the sin, and bring him before the tabernacle of the congregation.

Notice that the bullock is offered indicating that the offense or trespass was against God the Fahter. Jesus said that we could blaspheme the Father of the Son and be forgiven, through repentance, however, whoever blasphemes the Holy Spirit could never be forgiven, because it is through the conviction of the Holy Spirit that we are compelled to repent and, thereby, find forgiveness.

Mr 3:28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme: [29] But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.

Although, we sin ignorantly we are still accountable and a substitute is required to satisfy the demands of justice. The old adage that "Ignorance of the law is no excuse." applies here. Jesus took away our sins and justified us, before God, for our life, however, our soul (mind, will, and emotions) and our mortal bodies are not saved, except by the application of the promises of God, through the power of the Holy Ghost in the name of Jesus. Therefore, our mind and our bodies are subject to the law and the application of justice. The good news is that God has tempered justice with mercy. He has empathy for a person who, through ignorance, has done wrong. God's love turns justice from tyranny to a balanced application of the law.

Axiom #17 states: justice without mercy is tyranny, whereas, mercy without justice is anarchy.

In other words, the Father does not leave us without hope.

1Co 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

The word temptation, as it is used here, is a test or trial; not a enticement to sin. The test that we find our selves in is of our own making, when we violate or trespass against the Holy God. A test or trial is designed to bring us to God in repentance, so, that there may be unity, with him, and His power be applied to break the yoke of our sin and destroy its bondage and guilt, utterly, as far as the east is from the west. (Psalm 103:10-12) He even has mercy for the wicked.

Ge 20:2 And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, She is my sister: and Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah. [3] ¶ But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, Behold, thou art but a dead man, for the woman which thou hast taken; for she is a man's wife. [4] But Abimelech had not come near her: and he said, Lord, wilt thou slay also a righteous nation? [5] Said he not unto me, She is my sister? and she, even she herself said, He is my brother: in the integrity of my heart and innocency of my hands have I done this. [6] And God said unto him in a dream, Yea, I know that thou didst this in the integrity of thy heart; for I also withheld thee from sinning against me: therefore suffered I thee not to touch her. [7] Now therefore restore the man his wife; for he is a prophet, and he shall pray for thee, and thou shalt live: and if thou restore her not, know thou that thou shalt surely die, thou, and all that are thine.

Nu 15:27 And if any soul sin through ignorance, then he shall bring a she goat of the first year for a sin offering.

Nu 15:28 And the priest shall make an atonement for the soul that sinneth ignorantly, when he sinneth by ignorance before the LORD, to make an atonement for him; and it shall be forgiven him.

Nu 15:30 ¶ But the soul that doeth ought presumptuously, whether he be born in the land, or a stranger, the same reproacheth the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people. [31] Because he hath despised the word of the LORD, and hath broken his commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity shall be upon him.

2Sa 24:10 ¶ And David's heart smote him after that he had numbered the people. And David said unto the LORD, I have sinned greatly in that I have done: and now, I beseech thee, O LORD, take away the iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very foolishly. [12] Go and say unto David, Thus saith the LORD, I offer thee three things; choose thee one of them, that I may do it unto thee. [13] So Gad came to David, and told him, and said unto him, Shall seven years of famine come unto thee in thy land? or wilt thou flee three months before thine enemies, while they pursue thee? or that there be three days' pestilence in thy land? now advise, and see what answer I shall return to him that sent me. [14] And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let us fall now into the hand of the LORD; for his mercies are great: and let me not fall into the hand of man.

1Ti 1:12 ¶ And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; [13] Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

Although justice requires a payment to prevent anarchy (lawlessness or the violation of the law of love and compassion.), we are to temper our judgments with mercy, as God is merciful. (Luke 6:36)

5. Trespass offering: We trespass with our mouth; sins of omission or sins of commisssion.

The sins of presumption impugne us with hardship

in our physical lives, upon the earth.

Le 5:1 ¶ And if a soul sin, and hear the voice of swearing, and is a witness, whether he hath seen or known of it; if he do not utter (oppose) it, then he shall bear his iniquity.

Le 5:4 Or if a soul swear, pronouncing with his lips to do evil, or to do good, whatsoever it be that a man shall pronounce with an oath, and it be hid from him; when he knoweth of it, then he shall be guilty in one of these. [5] And it shall be, when he shall be guilty in one of these things, that he shall confess that he hath sinned in that thing: [6] And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the LORD for his sin which he hath sinned, a female from the flock, a lamb or a kid of the goats, for a sin offering; and the priest shall make an atonement for him concerning his sin.

Le 5:17 And if a soul sin, and commit any of these things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of the LORD; though he wist it not, yet is he guilty, and shall bear his iniquity. [18] And he shall bring a ram without blemish out of the flock, with thy estimation, for a trespass offering, unto the priest: and the priest shall make an atonement for him concerning his ignorance wherein he erred and wist it not, and it shall be forgiven him. [19] It is a trespass offering: he hath certainly trespassed against the LORD.

Lu 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.

We trespass with out actions, in touching the unclean thing or things that are unholy all around us.

Le 5:2 Or if a soul touch any unclean thing, whether it be a carcase of an unclean beast, or a carcase of unclean cattle, or the carcase of unclean creeping things, and if it be hidden from him; he also shall be unclean, and guilty. [3] Or if he touch the uncleanness of man, whatsoever uncleanness it be that a man shall be defiled withal, and it be hid from him; when he knoweth of it, then he shall be guilty.

2Co 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean (leudness or devilish) thing; and I will receive you,[18] And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

What could be an unclean thing? We are the temple of God. (1 Corinthians 3:16-17; 1 Peter 2:9) Anything that pollutes our temple: what we see in the media, what we hear in the street, what we feed ourselves with or drink, or persuing sensual pleasure in all the wrong places. Anything that defiles the sanctuary of our mind in thought, visions, or bitterness and vengeance. (Hebrews 12:15; Romans 12:1-2,19)

When Jesus washed the feet of the Apostles he was showing them through example how we need to clean or purify ourselves with the washing of the water by the Word of God.

Joh 13:10 Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all.

Eph 5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, [27] That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

The feet are the lower extremeties that make contact with the world. We must make a difference between things common and things holy and not let the world migrate into the sanctuary of our mind. In real life we do not put our face to the earth and wollow in the dirt; but clean and wash our face from even the filth that is in the air around us.

Le 10:10 And that ye may put difference between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean.

To those who believe that "all things" are clean, I say, Jesus came to satisfy the law; not destroy it. He fulfilled that law of the spirit, becoming the end of the "atonement" and the beginning of a new covenant by replacing our sinful life with his righteousness. However, he did not change the laws of the flesh. The things that were harmful to the flesh in the Old Covenant are still harmful to the flesh, now. The flesh and the mind are saved by faith and the operation of the Word of God within our lives.

Ro 3:29 Is he the God of the Jews only? is he not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:
[30] Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith. [31] Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

Heb 8:6 ¶ But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

Mt 5:17 ¶ Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. [18] For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. [19] Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

We may break the laws pertaining to the flesh and still go to heaven; for we are not justified by the works of the law. (Romans 3:28) However, the consequences of our folly will degrade us in the presence of the Holy God who gave the law and will provide us physical hardship in our walk between sin and holiness, on earth.

6. A freewill offering is a burnt offering or material offering that comes out of a gratitude born in love for God.

Giving God the expression of our gratitude.

Ex 35:5 Take ye from among you an offering unto the LORD: whosoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it, an offering of the LORD; gold, and silver, and brass, - and other personal things, such as, cloth, oil, stones, etc.

Gold (value) = Father;

Silver (purity) = Holy Spirit;

Brass (sacrifice) = Son

Ex 36:3 And they received of Moses all the offering, which the children of Israel had brought for the work of the service of the sanctuary, to make it withal. And they brought yet unto him free offerings every morning.

2Co 9:6 ¶ But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. [7] Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

7. Meat offering:       Giving God the essential things of our life.

Le 2:1 ¶ And when any will offer a meat offering unto the LORD, his offering shall be of fine flour; and he shall pour oil upon it, and put frankincense thereon.

The word "meat" does not have the same meaning that we would apply to it, in our culture.

SEC: H04503.  hxnm  minchah,  min-khaw' from an unused root meaning to apportion, i.e. bestow; a donation; euphemistically, tribute; specifically a sacrificial offering (usually bloodless and voluntary):--gift, oblation, (meat) offering, present, sacrifice.

Le 2:4 And if thou bring an oblation of a meat offering baken in the oven, it shall be unleavened cakes of fine flour mingled with oil, or unleavened wafers anointed with oil.

We commonly apply the "meat" to the flesh of animals, however, one definition, in the Random house dictionary, is "any edible part of anything". It is the "essential" part. In other words, we could call the meat offering, "The offering of the essential things of life." What is "essential" in your life? That is what you would offer, to the God. In a spiritual sense, we offer our families as living sacrifices, by honoring the Lord in our homes and prohibiting wicked behaviour and evil intent.

Prohibitions concerning the meat offering:

Le 2:11 ¶ No meat offering, which ye shall bring unto the LORD, shall be made with leaven: for ye shall burn no leaven, nor any honey, in any offering of the LORD made by fire.

In scripture, levening is an impurity that cause bread to become "puffed up". Sin puffs up and, therefore, levening which puffs us up, is emblematic of sin. Pride is the original sin from which all other sin is derived. To be "puffed up" is be guilty of inflated pride.

1Co 4:18 Now some are puffed up, as though I would not come to you. [19] But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech of them which are puffed up, but the power.

1Co 13:4 ¶ Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up.

The love of God shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost leaves no room for "puffed up" pride. God's kind of love will only abide in a vessel of humility.

Php 2:5  Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: [6] Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: [7] But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: [8] And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Ps 51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

Jas 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

We are God's workmanship and not our own. In our humility, his glory and honor can shine and the true author of our existance can receive the praise that is due to the creator alone. Can you see how blasphemous it is to say that I am a "self-made man" or "I did it my way"?

Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Php 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.

To destroy evil is the balanced application of God's justice ,

to protect the innocent.

Therefore, all of our works are to give our creator/God glory. To do evil is rebellion and it steals the honor and glory due to God, away from him. Therefore, God is abliged to destroy evil, so, that the rest of his creation does not become polluted, with it. That is the balanced use of justice to protect the innocent, which is mercy.

8. Drink offering: An anointing of consecration. To consecrate and make holy, by covering with richness or something of great value. (SEC: H5262)

Ge 35:14 And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he talked with him, even a pillar of stone: and he poured a drink offering thereon, and he poured oil thereon.

Ex 29:36 And thou shalt offer every day a bullock for a sin offering for atonement: and thou shalt cleanse the altar, when thou hast made an atonement for it, and thou shalt anoint it, to sanctify it.

[37] Seven days thou shalt make an atonement for the altar, and sanctify it; and it shall be an altar most holy: whatsoever toucheth the altar shall be holy.

9. Jealousy offering: "I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me." Exo. 20:5

Whatsoever a man sows, that shall he, also, reap.

Nu 5:15 Then shall the man bring his wife unto the priest, and he shall bring her offering for her, the tenth part of an ephah of barley meal; he shall pour no oil upon it, nor put frankincense thereon; for it is an offering of jealousy, an offering of memorial, bringing iniquity to remembrance.

Nu 5:27 And when he hath made her to drink the water, then it shall come to pass, that, if she be defiled, and have done trespass against her husband, that the water that causeth the curse shall enter into her, and become bitter, and her belly shall swell, and her thigh shall rot: and the woman shall be a curse among her people. [28] And if the woman be not defiled, but be clean; then she shall be free, and shall conceive seed.

Mt 10:26 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.

This is a significant oberservation, that God will reveal what has been hidden, even the secret sins. Upon drinking the bitter water prepared by the priest, sin would be exposed and the truth known. The soul deciding factor was God. He knew the truth, at the time the offense was committed, and exposed at His appointed time. Israel had hidden sins.

Eze 8:12 Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, The LORD seeth us not; the LORD hath forsaken the earth.

God is, always the witness against sin; not other people. Even when we deceive the magistrates, God is not decieved. He has established a universal law concerning sins done in secret that remains until this day:

Ga 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
[8] For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

God, who is the truth, hates lying and will judge it in His time. (Proverbs 6:16-17) One lie has to cover another lie until there is utter confusion and the house of cards collapses. Jesus said, it is the "truth" that shall set you free. (John 8:32) However, it is the lie that will condemn you to eternal hell fire.

Re 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

It is the work of the Holy Spirit to guide us in all truth.

Joh 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

To receive him, you must be born again. I pray that you will be saved.

Be blessed by it.
